Biography

I am Aldo Lipani, Ph.D. Candidate at the Vienna University of Technology. My interests are in: Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Artificial Intelligence.

My Ph.D. work is focused on a) improving the reliability of the test collection based evaluation in Information Retrieval, in particular it aims on correcting the pool bias, which is the effect that documents that were not selected in the pool created from the original runs will never be considered relevant, and b) developing  of an analytical approach to accessibility measures. I am also working on extending retrieval models including additional collection statistics and word embedding techniques.
